Chair massage is a popular and very convenient way to receive bodywork. The convenience lies in the fact that the chair is easy to carry, and the client usually remains clothed. Chair massage, along with its convenience, provides great access to the upper trapezius, neck and back region where many people tend to carry stress. Chair massage is good for demonstrations of one's practice, promotionals, advertising and great for those looking for a bit of relieve yet short on time.
There are many modalities that I tend to practice and incorporate throughout the process of giving a massage, so to say that I specifically give a Swedish, Myofascial, or Deep tissue massage is a misnomer. Depending on the needs of the client will determine what approach I will choose to take, so instead of giving you the modality of massage, I believe it would be better to label my massage with the equipment being used. Floor massage is generally where I utilitize more of my eastern style modalities. It is usually performed with clients clothed and incorporates more joint mobilitizing and acrobatic movements. Floor massage allows me to generate more force than using a table, and gives more flexiblity when attempting to utilize other body parts to conduct the massage, such as knees, feet, hands, elbows and various combinations of these limbs. Floor massage can tend to be more invirograting than relaxing, but will provide benefits to the body just the same.
